More About My Retreats & Events

Here you will learn practices to help reset your body from its over-activated state back into balance (homeostasis). Practices that you can take away with you, to nourish and restore you in your daily life. You will learn how to move from the 'fast lane' into the 'slow lane', and there are practices too for the times you feel lethargic and need energising.

I will guide you into practices through a series of yoga sequences, meditation, pranayama, stillness and (savasana) relaxation. This retreat is suitable for all levels.

The studio is fully equipped but please bring feel free to bring along a non slip yoga mat if you have one, and an extra blanket. All other yoga equipment will be provided.

The price is just £45, which includes refreshments. Due to limited spaces the session is non refundable. If you are unable to make the session and you give a minimum of 10 working days notice, you can carry your place over to the next mini retreat (providing there is a space). Please give cancellation notice by telephone.

The event will finish at 12.30pm when we will gather together for refreshments should you wish to stay.

New dates will be released soon.

A sound bath is a meditative experience where those in attendance are 'bathed' in the vibration and frequencies of sound.

These waves are produced by using various sources, including healing instruments such as gongs, crystal or Tibetan singing bowls, percussion, chimes, tuning forks, and can even be the human voice itself. Although sound is heard though the ears, gentle sound frequencies can also be felt through the body.

Sound can also help to support our 'vagus nerve' which helps to regulate our parasympathetic nervous system and the function of many of our major organs, so in essence sound resonates and vibrates on a cellular level.

Sound and vibration is said to have many therapeutic benefits and can help clear your entire energy body, organ systems, meridians, and chakra system. Sound vibrates all around you and creates a 'bath' of visceral sound where you can feel the frequency in the deepest parts of your body.

A sound bath creates a meditative state where the brain emits healing brainwaves. It can be a relaxing experience for most people, however some people may find the bowls not so relaxing and may bring specific emotions and feelings to the surface. The singing bowls can help stimulate the alpha and theta brain wave frequencies associated with meditative, clear, and peaceful states of mind.

Alpha brainwaves are present during light meditation, daydreaming and deep relaxation. Theta brainwaves are present during REM dreaming sleep, deep meditation, and hypnosis. These states are considered the gateway to the subconscious mind and it’s said that this is where we experience heightened creativity, depth of imagination and access to the subconscious realms where deep seated healing can take place.

Therapeutic sound also impacts our nervous system, slowing the heart, brain, and respiratory rates down to induce a state of deep relaxation and peace. When the brain waves and body are synchronised, balance can be restored, and stress in the body can be released. Sound and vibration can help facilitate a deep sense of peace, release tension and blocked energy, and balance the energy centres in the body. Sound works on a cellular level to rebalance our physical and emotional wellbeing.

A sound bath is a subjective experience and will be different each time you experience it, therefore it is best to approach a sound bath with an open mind.

These classes are held on Friday evenings, 7.00 - 8.00pm. New dates to be released soon.
